CHEN Jiachang from Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology visits CEPAMS

CHEN Jiachang, Deputy Director-General of Department of International Cooperation (DIC), Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) of China, accompanied by Ms. GU Yanfeng, Director of the Division of European Affairs, paid a visit to the Shanghai campus of the CAS-JIC Centre of Excellence for Plant and Microbial Science (CEPAMS) on 17 November.

Dr. HAN Bin, Director of Shanghai Institute of Plant Physiology and Ecology (SIPPE), which is one of the three partners of CEPAMS hosted the visit. Dr. WANG Jiawei from SIPPE delivered a brief introduction to CEPAMS firstly. Then both parties discussed the development and future strategy of CEPAMS.

“CEPAMS has established an international system of management and operation”, said CHEN Jiachang. “With complementary advantages of domestic and foreign resources, CEPAMS will be a good model for China’s top research institutions to collaborate with internationally leading research institutions in the world”. He hoped CEPAMS to aim the national long-term development and common global research questions to achieve sustainable development and wished CEPAMS a win-win future.
