Dr. Jun Xiao Makes First Visit to JIC after COVID-19

In July 2023, CEPAMS group leader Dr. Jun Xiao made first visit to JIC after COVID-19, promoting UK-China academic collaboration. Dr. Jun Xiao’s visit to JIC will open up new opportunities for cooperation between China and the UK in the field of plant sciences. This visit not only injects new vitality but also showcases the revival of academic exchanges post-pandemic. Dr. Jun Xiao’s visit to the JIC showcases the resurgent vigor of the academic community post-pandemic and highlights the importance of international collaboration. Dr. Jun Xiao said: “Thank you to the JIC-TSL team for their warm hospitality. I had a delightful long weekend in the peaceful English town of Norwich, where I experienced stimulating academic exchanges and relaxed evenings of fireside chats”.

As a CEPAMS Principal Investigator (PI), Dr. Jun Xiao wasted no time engaging in a series of academic exchanges upon their arrival in the UK.

Dr. Jun Xiao had closely cooperation with Dr. Yiliang Ding, Dr. Cristobal Uauy and Dr. David Seung in JIC. They made the collaborative research discussions, exploring cutting-edge research topics in the plant science area.

Dr. Jun Xiao share his research ideas with early career researchers (ECRs), especially, he had brainstorms with Dr. Pan Zhu, Dr. Anna Schulten and Dr.Robert Maple. These valuable face-to-face meetings not only strengthened the bonds between people but also laid the foundation for deeper cooperation in the future.

This visit has allowed Dr. Jun Xiao to exchange ideas with British colleagues, share the latest research findings, and rekindle friendships with acquaintances.
