The 2016 CAS-JIC Joint Symposium and the 5th Board Meeting for the CAS-JIC CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE FOR PLANT AND MICROBIAL SCIENCE (CEPAMS) was held in Shanghai, during Mar 14-18, 2016.
This is the second joint symposium since CEPAMS established in 2014. More than 70 scientists from Chinese Academy of Sciences and John Innes Centre, as well as some invited scientists from Peking University, attended the joint symposium. The topics covered genomic platforms for crop species, natural products, plant nutrition, plant growth and development, and stress responses. Moreover, a female scientists meeting was set up to discuss how to get over the difficulties and problems female researchers facing during their scientific career.
Mr. John Edwards, the British Consulate General in Shanghai, presented the supports from UK government. “The joint centre and the symposium will be a great platform and opportunity to develop collaboration between China and UK”, the Consulate said.
